NCCA Chair Felipe de Leon Jr. awarded the Gawad Rondalla to National Artist Ramon Santos during the Ipagdiwang! 98th Anniversary of the UP Diliman College of Music and Concert Tribute to its former faculties and conferred National Artists Ramon Santos and Francisco Feliciano.

UP Diliman College of Music in its 98th Anniversary pays tribute to its former faculties and now conferred National Artists for Music Ramon Santos and Francisco Feliciano.

Their compositions were rendered by the UP Cherubim and Seraphim, AILM Chorale, AUIT Vocal Chamber Ensemble, UP Rondalla, UP Singing Ambassadors, UP Dance Company, Novo Concertante Manila, UP Composers of New Music (CONEMUS) and UP Tugtugang Musika Asyatika (UP TUGMA).

NCCA Chair Felipe de Leon Jr. awarded the Gawad Rondalla to Santos. Professor Emeritus Fides Cuyugan Asensio, a soprano and voice maestra shared her experience in La Loba Negra (The Black She-wolf), a Filipino Opera wherein she was its first librettist with music by Feliciano. The opera is based on the novel written in 1869 and attributed to Filipino martyr priest Jose Burgos (1837-72).

The tribute concert was held at the Abelardo Hall, University of the Philippines Diliman on September 4, 2014.
